Alcidia was born and raised in Brazil. She came to the United States when she was 19 years old. She lived with an American family in Garland, Texas, and attended English language school for a year. She met her husband when she was planning to return to Brazil. She moved to Arkadelphia, Arkansas, and attended Ouachita Baptist University. Alcidia has three sons, William, Phillip, and Matthew. William and Matthew decided to move to Brazil and work in the Amazon region. Phillip is a pilot in the U.S. Air Force, stationed at Tinker Air Force Base. In 2007, she decided to return to Brazil and attend medical school. At the age of 49, she graduated from Estacio de Sa University as a family physician.
She decided to move to Oklahoma in 2021 to be closer to her grandchildren, Elsie, Oliver, Violet, and Benjamin. They are all Phillip’s children.
